Risk’s Ridge
I set out to explore the architecture of the Risk Family Farm; 2025 marked two hundred years of the land being in the family, making my work feel even more special. Visiting over the past couple of years, I’ve only seen a very small part of the hard work that they have put into the land. I’ve heard stories from members of the Risk family: hayrides, farming, the old cabin, made-up ghosts, and everything in between.
My Process
My process was simple: visit every place of the land I could. Photographing anything that caught my eye: colors, textures, animals. There were a few hundred photos taken in the first couple of passes of the land. As I began sifting through each photograph very slowly, and with the help of friends, classmates, and mentors, a sequence started to take shape. The final photobook was printed in a hardcover.
