Never Enough LP
I was tasked with creating a visually cohesive album cover recreation that expresses the music's sound within the design. This project combined my evolving photography skills with graphic design and type-setting.
Research
I chose Daniel Caesar’s album, Never Enough. The messaging behind the album and title captures the feeling that no amount of success, love, or approval from others will ever truly satisfy. I want to portray the urge to plan for the future instead of living in the present. I started by focusing on what I wanted my photographs to look like. I knew I wanted to have a simple background to show the feeling of isolation when it seems like everyone around you is further ahead.
Photoshoot
I photographed in the studio with a white background. The composition features a clock in the middle with nothing around it.
Rough Draft
I then began to implement the album, artist, and song titles in the design. I wanted to keep it clean and simple.
Final LP
My final design choice reflects the genre of music, as well as the messages that come from the album. The song list shows how your thoughts start to move faster as you feel isolated. The simple typeface and clock motif help to grab the viewers attention.
